Production Management: Direct the production of all periodical and non-periodical printed materials and publishing activities of the association, overseeing the entire process from concept to final product. This includes serving as managing editor for the organization's bi-monthly magazine, American Music Teacher; the quarterly academic journal, eJournal; and the digital publication, Business Digest.

Website Content Management: Manage day-to-day updates to MTNA, MTNA Certification, MTNA Foundation, and American Classical Music Hall of Fame websites. Create and update organizational forms in Jotform as necessary.

​

Team Leadership: Manage volunteer committees and editorial teams, including writers, editors, and designers to ensure all information is received, reviewed, and processed in a timely manner so as to meet publishing deadlines.

​

Quality Control: Ensure the high quality and consistency of all publications, while adhering to MTNA brand guidelines.

​

Legal Compliance: Confirm publications comply with all copyright laws and ethical standards.

​

Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with marketing, sales, and other relevant departments and/or personnel as necessary.

​

Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with authors, vendors, and others.

​

Strategic / Financial Planning: Develop and implement publication strategies, policies, and processes to maintain editorial standards and meet budget guidelines, while also seeking ways to create great financial efficiencies.

Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.

Directed all strategic communications for the College of Arts & Sciences, the largest of the university's six academic units.


Disseminated news through the monthly newsletter and online channels.


Wrote and distributed press releases around timely research findings, awards, and events.


Created, managed, and implemented annual editorial calendar. 


Developed digital and print materials including marketing materials, internal messaging, alumni and donor communications, CAS websites, brochures, flyers, postcards, and digital graphics. 


Created content for and managed all CAS social media channels: Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and Facebook. 


Managed website (www.cas.uncg.edu) in collaboration with CAS web developer and co-lead the redesign of more than 50 websites across the College. 


Promoted and monitored UNCG brand adherence and consistency across 20+ departments.


Represented CAS across campus as part of the UNCG community of communications professionals, in partnership with University Communications.


Hired, trained, and supervised digital media and photography interns.

Annually developed and directed community-focused marketing  campaigns that proactively support the organization’s  marketing, outreach and fundraising initiatives. 

​

Oversaw creation of all public communications for HPCG,  developing materials including press releases, newsletters,  web copy, social media, the agency's blog and email campaigns. 

​

Led the production of a print magazine distributed quarterly to 16,000+ donors, patients, and families.

​

Managed both organic and paid promotions, including pay-per-click ads, Google Adwords, boosted posts and retargeting ads.

​

Supervised, hired, trained and delegated tasks to one full-time Communications Specialist.
